i did not watch the full show. i only watched some significant parts of it. what i was showed in the beginning was the normal life of some sgreans. breakfast in the morning with the family and some morning exercise. everything seems normal until you look more into their lifes. in the introduction, flashes of normal sg families we shown on screen. it showed people having dinner, watching tv together and going about their usual daily routine. then it became more focused on certain people.
there is this fat lady who was always criticised by someone who seems like her mother and she dreaded going home. it was pretty obvious that she was delaying her time in returning home. if not she wouldn't have spent her time sitting there and watching the man exercise, or press all e buttons in the lift so that it stopped at every floor. even the man who later became ghost sympathised with her. the fat lady seriously thought of comitting suicide. but maybe the fact there there would be no one to take care of her elderly mother stopped her. she kept quiet even though her mother kept insulting her.
then there was this eldest brother who sacrificed his time and effort in raising his younger siblings. he expected the best from them. he expects them to be back at home before 10pm and he was the typical old fashioned brother. he loved his sister so much that he raped her in the end. his youngest brother was at the void deck lying for a floor, looking for a comfortable position to die. after raping the younger sister, the man went to the playground to vent his fustration. he cried and whacked anything in sight. his youngest brother didn't even bothered to go find out what was wrong and continued what he was doing.
the yong tau foo seller got himself a china bride who had a sweetheart in china. she only consented to having sex with him for once a week. i dun understand much about this part of the story actually. so can't comment much. hehe..
but not all the lifes of sgreans r so sad. its just that eric khoo showed much things on the bright side of life. sad ending to a sad story.
